Just Finance Foundation Impact Report
The Just Finance Foundation is a UK charity focused on improving children’s financial literacy and wellbeing. Their annual Impact Report needed to reflect that mission: warm, engaging, and visually confident.
As part of their brand, JFF subscribes to an online illustration library. Working with those assets rather than creating from scratch was the brief, but there’s a significant difference between placing library illustrations and actually working with them. Every asset was recoloured, reshaped, or recombined in Illustrator and InDesign to sit properly within the brand and feel like it belonged there. Some adjustments were straightforward. Others were more involved. The result is a suite of visuals that feel ownable rather than off-the-shelf.
That approach significantly cut illustration time, which matters for a charity watching every pound. What it didn’t cut was the thinking, knowing which assets to combine, how to adjust them, and when to push further, is the same skill as illustration, applied differently.
The finished report is 24 pages and looks like it had a much bigger budget than it did.

“You’ve done a great job of maintaining our look and feel but bringing some new life and interest to it. It means a lot to the staff here to see the impact come to life, and it’s great to work with someone who has understood us so well.”

If you’ve got a project that needs clear, human-centred design, illustration, branding or a combo of all three, I’d love to work with you.
