PSHE Association Schools Resources

The PSHE Association creates resources helping teachers deliver personal, social, health and economic education across UK schools. The first brief was illustrations about drugs and alcohol use aimed at pupils with special educational needs, material that needed to be clear and unambiguous for children who process information differently.

That first project opened the door to a two-year collaboration. As the team got to know my work, the briefs expanded from illustration into full document design, laying out teacher resource packs from illustration through to finished print-ready files. Lesson plans and classroom resources covering consent, personal identity, bodies and reproduction, online safety, friendship, and a range of family structures. Each one requiring the same clarity and sensitivity.

PSHE Education Illustrations

A joint project with the NSPCC focused on helping children with learning difficulties understand inappropriate touching and consent. We had detailed conversations about what to include, how to frame it, and what to leave out. A lot of it also comes down to instinct: how to organise the composition to tell the story while remaining sensitive and discreet. The team I worked with were very good at knowing what was needed, and that collaboration made the difference.

Care, instinct, and trust on both sides, that’s what good work in this space looks like.

If you’ve got a project that needs clear, human-centred design, illustration, branding or a combo of all three, I’d love to work with you.
